MA Publishing staff have secured yet another opportunity for MA Publishing students which is also to be extended to MA Creative Writing and MA English Literature students.

The two-week internship is with Shakespeare and Company, based in the heart of Paris opposite Notre Dame. Founded in 1951, by American George Whitman, who stayed in Paris following the war, Shakespeare and Company started as a bookshop and has since grown into a literary institution. With an annual literary festival, writing working shops, a literary prize, and a magazine in addition to buying and selling books, the internships offers a promising student a unique opportunity to get first-hand experience in a wide range of literary activities.

Henry Miller, Anaïs Nin, Lawrence Durrell and Allen Ginsberg all frequented Shakespeare and Company. The company is seen as a sanctuary for writers, aspiring writers and artists. Accommodation is included during the internship.
