Making a difference to health, social care and education through research, learning and teaching

With around 10,500 students, the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education is the largest provider of health, social care and education courses across the East of England. We offer a comprehensive range of locally, nationally and internationally recognised courses, delivered by teams of experienced academic staff who all have relevant teaching and professional experience.

Our vision is to promote excellence in health, social care and education to deliver an inspiring practice and research based learning portfolio and to develop and lead world-class translational research.

Our research activity is central to our vision and we are very enthusiastic and proud of our research. Alongside new initiatives such as the Doctor of Medicine research programme and our Early Childhood Research Group, we forge links at regional, national and international levels and are developing centres of research excellence. These are creating opportunities for high quality translational health, social care and education research to be undertaken.

Our courses lead to relevant careers with over 95% of our graduates finding full-time employment or further study, six months after graduating.

Many of our courses are professionally recognised - from organisations such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) - reflecting the excellence of our teaching.

We are one of only 12 universities in England and Scotland to have met the NMC's new pre-registration nursing education standards, which are designed to ensure newly qualified nurses are fully prepared for professional practice.

Our courses are offered over a range of study levels, from foundation and undergraduate degrees to masters and doctorates. We boast a variety of disciplines from nursing, operating department practice and social work to midwifery, physiotherapy, public heath and laparoscopic surgery. Alternatively choose from one of our education courses including teaching training at both primary or secondary school level or one of our popular educational studies courses.

We have the right course for you!
